Amex Platinum Card: Lululemon & Resy Credits Coming Soon?!

ey credit card enthusiasts! Philip here, diving into the latest buzz around the American Express Platinum card. I know, I know, I'm a little late to the party, but these rumors are juicy!

The Rumor Mill is Turning

There's speculation about potential changes to the Amex Platinum, and for good reason. It's already a powerhouse card, and these rumored updates could make it even better.

Now, I usually take rumors with a grain of salt, especially when they originate from a single Reddit post. But, in this case, some details make a little too much sense to ignore.

The Potential New Credits:

Here's what everyone's whispering about:

  • $300 Lululemon Credit: This rumor suggests a $75 quarterly credit at Lululemon. Remember the buzz around the "Dunkin' credit" for the Amex Gold card? Everyone thought it was a long shot, but it turned out to be true! Lululemon has a huge marketing budget and aligns with the premium brand aesthetic that Amex often goes for. Plus, I could definitely use this credit myself..

  • $400 Resy Credit: A Resy credit seems almost inevitable at this point. Amex has been adding Resy credits to their refreshed cards. Whether it's a yearly, bi-yearly, or quarterly distribution, a $400 Resy credit on the Platinum card would be amazing, especially for date nights!

Max Rewards: Your Secret Weapon

Speaking of maximizing value, let me tell you how I keep track of all my credit card perks: Max Rewards Gold! This app is a lifesaver for managing multiple premium cards and their various credits. I can track used credits, and it tells me which card to use at which store to maximize points. Plus, it alerts me to nearby Amex Offers.

I even saved $200 on a trip to the Waldorf Astoria Orlando because Max Rewards activated an Amex Offer on my Green card.

I've partnered with Max Rewards to offer you a discount! Use code Phillip at checkout or click the link in the description for 3 months off your annual subscription. There's also a 7-day free trial!

Why These Rumors Matter

Let's recap: a $300 Lululemon credit, a $400 Resy credit, and the already-leaked $600 Fine Hotels + Resorts (FHR) credit. That's a potential $1,300 in value from just three credits!

If these rumors are true, it's safe to assume the annual fee may increase from the speculated $895. But with that much usable value, it might be worth it.

Would I Keep the Card?

I love my Amex Platinum. The Centurion Lounge access, 5x points on airfare and hotels booked through Amex Travel, it's all valuable to me. At $695, it's a keeper. At $895 with these new credits? Still a yes! Even if these were the only credits on the card, the value and ease of use would make it worthwhile.

Of course, if the annual fee goes significantly higher, it's something to consider.
