Alright, now that's out of the way, let's get to the good stuff!

Big News: Mesa Homeowner Card Unlocks Exclusive Omni Hotel Partnership!

The first massive piece of news is that the Mesa Homeowner card now has a brand new hotel transfer partner that no one else has: Omni Hotels! This is incredibly significant because, until very recently, you couldn't transfer points from any bank ecosystem into Omni. Just by earning Mesa points, you now have access to their unique program.

Omni boasts some truly incredible properties. For instance, we have an Omni in Orlando – a fantastic resort in Champions Gate with golf access, great pools, and a lazy river. It's a solid option for a relaxing stay.

But then you have places like the Omni Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina. My wife and I recently visited there for their annual nationwide gingerbread contest – the creations are absolutely intricate and displayed throughout the lobby, drawing hundreds of visitors daily. They even have a gingerbread house that sells hot chocolate, just like the Grand Floridian in Orlando!

I had dinner there and was captivated, trying to figure out a way to stay that night. Typically, a night there could run you $500-$600. But now? It's 30,000 Mesa points for one night!

Yes, you heard that right. While the transfer ratio is 30,000 Mesa points to 100 Omni points (as Omni charges 100 points per night across all properties), when you convert that $600 cash price, it means you're getting approximately 2 cents per point for your Mesa points – which is pretty solid! This new partnership makes Mesa points far more interesting, especially with Omni's desirable locations.

Bonus Tip: If you're able to transfer points within the first three months of this partnership, you can actually unlock Omni Champion status! This gets you free room upgrades, late checkouts, and exclusive perks at check-in. If you have 30,000 Mesa points ready, I'd highly recommend locking in that status now!

My Personal $5,000 Redemption with the Mesa Homeowner Card

Now, let's talk about how the Mesa Homeowner card almost saved me $5,000!

If you've been following my channel, you know I'm a big fan of Cath Pacific's and Air India's programs, partly because you can book United flights for around 5,000 Mesa points. You do need to be a bit "into the game" to understand the partnerships, but the value is there.

Recently, I transferred 126,000 Mesa points to Cath Pacific, which I then used to book two business class seats on British Airways for next November. And here's the kicker:

When flying British Airways to London, fees can be notoriously high.

  • Booking via Alaska Airlines could cost 45,000 points plus $1,000 in fees.

  • Booking via British Airways Avios might be 80,000 Avios plus $375-$600 in fees.

But with Cath Pacific, I booked these flights for only $200 in fees per person! That's right, a mere $400 total for two business class tickets.

These were one-way tickets from JFK to London Heathrow, which would typically cost around $4,700. After subtracting the $400 in fees, that means I got an incredible 3.5 cents per point in value for my Mesa points! We prefer one-way tickets so we can fly into London and out of other European cities like Paris, Barcelona, or Lisbon, saving even more points.

This redemption was a huge win, showcasing the immense value of Mesa points, especially when leveraged through partners like Cath Pacific (which can also be used for American Airlines domestic and international flights!).

The Mesa Homeowner Card: A Deep Dive into Its Features

So, what makes this card so great?

The Mesa Homeowner card has NO ANNUAL FEE, which is honestly insane considering the benefits it offers:

  • 1x point per dollar on your mortgage payment: You need to spend at least $1,000 on the card monthly to get these points.

  • 3x points on home and family expenses: This includes home improvement, decor, maintenance, utilities, and a huge one for many – daycare!

  • 2x points on groceries, gas, EV charging, and transit.

  • 1x points on everything else.

But it doesn't stop there. The card also comes with a fantastic "coupon book" of annual credits:

  • Free Costco membership per year: My wife and I renewed ours recently, and the credit appeared within a week!

  • $120 in annual Lowe's credit: Delivered as $30 every quarter.

  • $200 in annual Thumbtack credits.

  • $120 in annual Wag dog walking credits.

  • $120 in annual The Farmer's Dog credits.

  • Plus, a home warranty credit and more.

Personally, I've used the Farmer's Dog credits ($10/month), the Lowe's credit, and the Costco credit, easily recouping value from a card that costs nothing to hold!

Mesa vs. Built: A Quick Look Ahead

I know many of you might be thinking about the upcoming Built program, which will also allow you to earn mortgage points on credit card spend. Built points are incredibly valuable, with transfer partners like Hyatt, United, and Southwest. While Built points could be easier to get high value from, achieving 3.5 cents per point on international business class with Mesa means I'm doing just fine! Perhaps there will be opportunities to hold both cards in the future once Built fully rolls out.

For now, the Mesa Homeowner card has undoubtedly saved me almost $5,000, and I couldn't be happier about it!
